Hit a major milestone this past weekend, on Friday they poured the footings and the slab for our barn at our future home. (building the barn first, then going to sell our house, store stuff in the barn and either rent a apartment or live there in our RV while the house is built.)
Started this project in May of 2009, cleared many tree's, built nearly 1,400' of driveway, moved a lot of dirt with our JD4510 and CAT 935c. However this milestone moved us from earth movers to builders. Exciting stuff.
Installing french drain and downspout drainage pipes this weekend, and then the block work will begin. 810 blocks to be layed. Standard stick framing building for the rest. Metal roof and sides are planned. I'll share pics as we go. Hope to have it dried in before winter. This is South Carolina, winter is 3 + months away, however I only have weekends.
PS The building is 42'x50', monitor style. The forms in front are for the 46'x12' apron in front.
