The male, coned and spleened stub shaft, (prox 8" long) on the end opposite, the small gear that drives the ring gear, on my post hold digger gear box, has slop between it and the connecting female pto drive shaft coupler. Because of the slop, the spleen which was cone shaped has now lost its cone on the outside end and will not tighten. I am considering lightly coating the shaft or coupler with braze, for shimming, in the cone area, to prevent movement between them. The shaft has a 3/4" fine thread stub on the end of it, so a lot of squeeze is available. Suggestions and comments please.
