I remember the "Cleveland Trencher" pretty well.. Had the big "wheel" that did the trenching, a conveyor that dumped the dirt off the right side, dual truck tires on the front, tracks on the back.
I agree that Cleveland Trencher should have been the manufacturer, but I'll ask my grandpa when I see him next, as he was the one that had one. I can remember at 6-7 years old walking along the trench with a shovel throwing dirt in on top of the tile with my youngest uncle..
The machine has been gone for probably close to 20 years now..
Sorry I don't know any technical info on the machine, but again, my grandpa would.. They ran theirs for quite a few years before upgrading.
The story I always heard behind them getting their own tiler was they needed some work done but no one could get to them, so grandpa told one of the tilers he guesses he'd just get his own machine.. The tiler laughed at him.. and it was on.. They ran that old thing until the late 80's early 90's, then had a couple Dynapac/Hoes chain machines, then they had another chain machine that was a little newer, then in the late 90's they got a InterDrain plow.. In good conditions they can lay some pipe in a big big hurry.

After two summers of having to park my old 1964 model 4000 gas 4 cyl. on a hill just in case the 6 volt system, for whatever reason, would not crank her, I decided to try the 12 volt conversion. After some research of convert or not, I decided to go ahead, the main reason being that this tractor was a working tractor, not a show tractor (yet). I did keep everything I replaced for the day I do want to restore her to showroom condition.
