YIKES, how many times I tell yall DO NOT overcharge a battery cuz that will totally ruin it even worse then insufficient charging grrrrrrr
Anywho I was at the Elnora Tractor show like 5 days a drivin my Yamaharley Gas Golf Cart (haulin old widder women around) with a ton of stops n starts, never any long time or high RPM running (for good charges) sooooooooooo (but still starting n running perfect) I figure when I get home I will give her a bit of slow charge to top her off before my next outing. Sooooooo I put my charger on earlier at about 20 amps figurin to take her off in 30 mins or so and I didnt put it on time charge or auto or shut down etc
YOU GUESSED IT I had a law client come and I got busy n plum forgot it was charging for like 3 hours and I was on the porch maybe 500 feet from my shop n all a sudden I smelled that familiar rotten egg n hydrogen smell YIKES I beat er on down there and it was bubblin n gurglin n outgassin something awful so I go in the shop farrrrrrrrr away from the battery n turn off the power. Long after it was still gurgling n gassin but I eventually got it washed off n cooled down n checked the electrolyte buttttttttttt now its deader then a mackeral
Oh well, it was 4 yrs old anyhow so Im headed to Wally World for a battery, maybe get some grass seed n stop by the local watering hole mmmmmmmmmm its nuttin $75 wont fix
