John, You need a cheap timer to turn your charger off. I take electrical tape and cover up the electric eye on my Christmas light dusk to dawn timer. You can set it for up to eight hours and it turns itself off.
Or you can go to wal-mart or HF and buy a smart charger that turns itself off when the battery is fully charged. I use both methods. George
