Down here in deep S. Texas, the place just down the road sold a few years ago. 30 acres, half is rio red grapefruit, other half plowed. Advertised at 12.5 per acre, sold in less than 2 weeks for 12.5 per acre. The economy goes down, but the land seems to stay about the same here but I don't see much selling either. As with most areas, the smaller the plot the more they usually want for it. Another place a mile or so from me is just over 1.5 acre and they want 50K for it, and it's covered in brush (mesquite) and needs to be cleared before you could do anything with it. Non irrigated land goes a bit cheaper, but it depends on where it's at. Seen it as cheap as 6K an acre, not sure why I call that cheap.
