Don't think it would work well on the hills around here, be nice on the flat fields, we have both, but from my experience gathering round bales, having them paired would save some time, because when they abut each other, its stab and go, when you lift they butt right together. If you are using a spear on the back as well, you still have to get that one, now an odd number, breaking up pairs. We were not doing real heavy bales, 700lb 5' bales, but it was painful to watch the other guy go all the way out and get one, when I always put 2 on, we really needed a spear on the back. Anything that saves time can be a bonus when rain is threatening and you keep the bales inside to get the best price for em.
