A man in Texas, near here, had been convicted a number of times. He got caught stealing a dog. I don't remember how many felony convictions it takes to reach the habitual criminal level, which is a life sentance but, this guy only lacked 1 convection. The judge ask the dog owner how much the dog was worth. The owner's response was. "I wouldn't take $10,000 dollars for that ol dog." Judge sentanced the thief to life in prison.
