We got feedback from every one that bought a 1/4 of the steers that we switched from full grain feed, to full free choice 3rd cutting alfala for the last 45 days. As with the normal grain fed, they were about 1050-1100 pounds, 12-13 months old. EVERYONE that asked to get another next year, said the meat was more flavorfull than the corn/pellet finished ones they had purchased earlier, and we have NEVER had anything but positive feedback from the grain ginished. What a pleasant surprise. Also, brought us 4 new customers. So this springs calves and the one's have to purchase will be in split 50/50, grain and pellets to finish, or alfalfa finish last 45-60 days. Only have 15 3rd cutting bales this year, but have some 2nd cutting left.
