One of the best events we hold at the RR museum I volunteer at is the truck & tractor event... and it's clearly stated up front it's a touch type event. We expect the guests to be respectful of everyone's equipment and everyone encourages the kids to touch/climb on most everything. We've a few people with fragile stuff (a couple of not quiet restored Model T's) that limit to look only. Outside those, there's nothing like the look a a kids face on a tractor or a train.
