Well i deal in both farm and auto parts. We are a New Holland and a GM dealer ship. I would have to say GM parts are the biggest surprise. Yes lots of ag parts will blow you away.
Now the battery trick. The auto service bought a new battery charger from GM to give the tech the best result on the battery condition. Seems 8 out of 10 batteries fail the test. Biggest failure is cold cranking amps. I have voiced my opinion several times that doesn't mean the battery is bad. I do a hydromentor test and find most times the battery charge is low. I put it on trickle charge over night, wait and retest it and 95% of them retest good. I like the top post batteries the best since I have lots of tractors.
Lot of elderly people don't drive their vehicles that much and the charge is low from setting because all the computer stuff drawing from the battery while sitting, A 10 minute quick charge is not enough time to bring the battery back to full production. caseman-d
