Are there any old fashion starter/generator/alternator repair shops near you?? They have them
I have successfully used a 6 volt genny with a 12 volt Voltage Regulator to charge a 12 volt battery. They didnt set the world on fire at any real high charge rate BUT THEY DID WORK.
The best way is to have a shop convert your 6 to a 12, they do it RIGHT by changing out the field windings
For good 6 volt starts you need alllllllll
