Mark, remover the headlamp switch, take special note to the wire plug in to the switch. You'll find the plug will be melted at 1 or 2 connections. Purchase a new switch & a replacement pigtail plugin. On the good wires from the old orignial plug remove them one at a time & reinstall them in the new pigtail once you remove the new wire out of that plug. I see no sense in replacing & cutting good wires. Solder the connections You'll be fine.. The less cutting of wires the better the connections will be. Use a paper clip to remove the wire.
