Jim, we are about 450 miles south of you and we got some rain yesterday, but it was not associated with that front. Instead it was coming off the gulf. The bad part was the lightning that was with it. Not a lot, but one hit very close. The wife was in the middle room when it hit, and the ceiling light started flashing and I yelled turn off the light which she did. 5 minutes later I smelled smoke. She called 911, I turned off all the breakers to the house. Smoke was bad, but couldn't tell where it was coming from. Our volunteer FD found a hot wall (something I didn't think to look for) and offered to open it up and I agreed. An outlet got hot and was melting the wire going up the wall. Never knew sheetrock could burn, but it was so hot it burnt through it as well as some backing paper and part of a 2X4. Very scary, but at least we did get some rain and didn't loose the house!
