That's a good reason to let them sit in teh field for a few more weeks, let them get a rain, and then harvest them!
Beans are really sensitive to moisture. You get a bean wet, and it looks like a football, not a BB. Let the pods get a rain, then go at them.
I never had that problem with our humidity. Lowest I could get them was 13.9% in a really dry year. Our humdidity, (or Humility, as my dad says) is really high. It seems we can't get them low enough and this year I see so many people coming in light.
Can't you wait for a good rain and go harvest teh next morning? how about put them in the bin and then when the humility gets high, turen the fans on and incorporate the moisture? I am pretty ignorant when it comes to worldly travels. I have been to TN, WV, OH, IN, KY, and a few other states nearby. I didn't notice any difference in the temps, except that the humdidity was a lot lower. So, would a rain make it better? $12 beans @ 6% = $9 beans at 13%. What a shame...
