I have been a Generator Tech since 1968. Your best choice is Kohler. Good unit and a good company to deal with. People you can talk to if you need help. It may cost more up front. But it will be cheaper in the long run.
While Generac does have some good units. Most are junk. Quality is poor and the price for parts can be a real shocker. I was once given a price of 2500.00 dollars for a starter for a 25 KW unit. Factory support is none. If you are not a dealer they will not talk to you. Getting anyone to work on them can be a problem. I will not work on one since I have retired. Got fed up with getting chewed out by customers. Because their new Generac is not working. Go with the Kohler.
