I had a 20 minute candid discussion with a Generac service engineer today that services our 350kw Generac plant genset and bear in mind his forte is large commercial units but he had some interesting insight for gensets in general. (question one)failing to start issues: (answer): We have found from commercial to residential units especially LP or NG that starting problems are usually caused by incorrect fuel supply installs. Always remember LP and NG vapor units are sized by BTUs not horsepower. (Question two) The engine specs mimic the Kohler Command engine, is it the same? (answer): I know the numbers look the same but no it is actually a Briggs based engine from the Vanguard series with Generac improvements. After most of the conversation he was concerned that the unit I was told I needed will not be big enough since I have a 5T Geothermal furnace plus 3 baths and a 4 bedroom house. The reason is the aircooled engines have small flywheels at 3600rpm which puts a lot of strain on the connecting rods when power demands are instantaneous versus big mass flywheels like water cooled bigger block 4cyl. units running at 1800rpm. more $$$. There was a whole lot more conversation but my memory and typing is getting tired. You can tell he lives and sleeps backup generators he's been doing it since he graduated from college as a EE 28 years ago.I'm just trying to gather facts to make a somewhat intelligent decision. CT

As long as a pool was at the end of our destination she was easy to please unlike the other two who have a multitude of requirements to travel with mom and dad. Amana Colonies served as a respite where we ate a family style lunch that sustained us with more food than could reasonably fit into our ample physiques. The show at Ankeny
