Look at the beam on that thing, like a front axle of a car or tractor, they used to build em so much heavier then.
I have an early or mid 60's craftsman, 1 owner, not a speck of mortar stuck in the barrel, built the same way, the beam is cast iron like a front axle, everything has grease fittings and its got an old G.E. motor on it. $100 craigslist find, darned thing is a monster to move around too, love all this old good quality stuff, just found a mid 50's wheel barrow to go with it, built in the same fashion, bent C channel frame oak handles, sellers dad owned it, he remembers being carted in it in the 50's, also been garage kept. $35, you can't even get one built like one of these, maybe Jackson makes one, same style as their HD construction models, even has the original BF Goodrich tire. Can't get enough of these kinds of things.
