A girl that worked as the bookkeeper at my place of employment got a bad infection due to getting a tattoo. She spent over a week in the hospital and the owner of the company was pizzed off about it. Lost work time/productivity/money due to trying to look like a loser. My dad was in the US navy in the late 50s. His boot camp drill instructor was very honest with the guys and told them straight up, "it looks cool now to get a tattoo on your arm, but when you are 50 years old bouncing your grandson on your knee it isnt cool anymore" A good friend of mine is now 50 years old and has a tattoo of the Tazmanian devil on his arm bending a boat anchor. My friend says, yep I was a dumb punk and thought it was cool, but not anymore. The degradation of the US society has really gone down hill since I was in high school 25 years ago. It will be really really bad in another 25 years. The body piercings are really disgusting and I cant for the life of me understand why anyone would do such a thing. And yes Employers WILL discriminate against those that have hooks/chains/studs/tattoos on their bodies.
