Guy I know has a M7040. Close to the same tractor, just one model smaller. The tractor is reliable, rides nice, lots of power and traction(with Agribibs) It's an 8f/8r trans with hydraulic shuttle. Don't know about the Deere. Based on the Specs it doesn't look too bad but Kubota has the market on reliability and I can tell you that they are a very comfortable tractor to use. There are people that say that the Kubota's are built too light, etc. but I can tell you that the other day I was operating an AGCO RT110A and with the loader lifting to capacity that thing was just as light in the rear end as our Kubota M6030. The loader is whatever AGCO puts on that tractor from ALO.

After some research of convert or not, I decided to go ahead, the main reason being that this tractor was a working tractor, not a show tractor (yet). I did keep everything I replaced for the day I do want to restore her to showroom condition.
