Tony, You will never get it to seal by applying anything to the outside of the fitting. WAY too much pressure. Clean it up real good with Brake and Parts cleaner then look closly to see where it is leaking. Is the line cracked? Is it leaking from the copper compression rings? You will have to seal the leak in the manner it was sealed when new. Diesel high pressure lines have to seal, not just be patched. Be careful if you choose to use teflon tape on anything. Do not get ANY inside the high pressure system. That can be, what is called in the business, a BAD thing.
