The ones on welfare have the nicer stuff (clothes, living quarters, TV, and overall age/condition of stuff), 100% free health and dental, free public transportation (bus) and almost free train and taxi, utilities (internet and TV is a quality of life thing that can't be denied)....
The workers had older stuff, vehicles older, paid rent, utilities, transportation, worker's half of healthcare, dental out of pocket or paid an extra insurance, yadda yadda....
At the end, the workers were real close (+/-) to a hundred bucks ahead of the welfare bunch. Throw in a car repair or something and see what happens......
