Regarding the "illegal" part of the discussion:
I've worked with several "illegals" and I don't begrudge ANYONE who is trying to better his lot in life. The problem is with the "illegal" part. Millions of people are on waiting lists to get into this country legally. My Canadian BIL had to go through reams of red tape before he married my sister to prove that he wouldn't be a "burden" to the US. There are immigration quotas for every country.
But somehow Mexicans (and Hispanics already in this country) seem to think they are special and can just walk across the border and be accorded the same rights as US citizens and people who have been waiting for years to come here. Supporters of "Immigration Reform" (including the President) think it means "let those here illegally become citizens".
To me, Immigration Reform means tightening our borders and allowing police to detain people they suspect are illegals. Deportation should be immediate for violators. Look what happened in Iran with US hikers who ACCIDENTLY crossed their border. We are the laughing stock of the world and people don't take us seriously. In fact they hate us, so why worry about our image? Just round up everyone who appears to be here illegally, sort them out and ship the ones without papers back. Simple. Eliminate visitor visas for people from countries whose citizens abuse those visas. Simple. We need to get tougher on a lot of fronts, especially our borders.

Today's Featured Article - 12-Volt Conversions for 4-Cylinder Ford 2000 & 4000 Tractors - by Tommy Duvall. After two summers of having to park my old 1964 model 4000 gas 4 cyl. on a hill just in case the 6 volt system, for whatever reason, would not crank her, I decided to try the 12 volt conversion. After some research of convert or not, I decided to go ahead, the main reason being that this tractor was a working tractor, not a show tractor (yet). I did keep everything I replaced for the day I do want to restore her to showroom condition.
