Hi pals, it's 11:40pm and we're still without the main computer. What a racket Mcafee is.All because the infernal interupting popups that I've complained about for the last 2 years, finally came to a head.Victor went to Rice Lake, and bought a new Norton 360 program.Uninstalled Mcafee, or so we thought, then reinstalled the new norton.Guess what.Norton couldn't accept it.Because Mcafee, has hidden programs squirelled away in the back of the computer, only James Bond could ferrett out.Norton couldn't get into the removal of Mcafee hidden particles,as hard as they tried.Victor found them, and downloaded the removal tool that gets rid of the left over junk, and all the little hoops they make you jump thru to get rid of it is truly appalling.Like putting round pegs in square holes.Well all said and done Mcafee is gone, but still can't reach the internet, because our local carrier says our network drivers are gone, and for them to bypass it would cost us $15.00 more per month on our bill. He!! for 10 months thats $150.00 that could be applied to a brand new computer if need be.Or else it goes on forevere. So friends and neighbors, and tractor lovers,Victor has another job for tomorrow, going to wipe the whole system and start all over again.Originally the Dell was top of the line, all the bells and whistles, you could get on a home computer, and it will be again,or BAM, New computer.Right now were working off a small laptop computer,we'll be back as soon as we can, appreciate all the tips. The good thing of it is we have everything stored to disc.So we won't lose much.Again thanks for all the tips and help.Done ranting, regards, LOU
