I have dried corn in a stirring bin for 23 years. I have stored dried corn in a 30' eight ring bin (13500 bu) for 13 years. The storage bin has an aeration floor, but no fan, transition, nor vents. I start taking corn out of the storage bin by spring, 18 tons per week, typically emptying it in July. It usually comes out 14-15%. I have never had a bit of spoilage. The corn is slow dried, cooled, and thoroughly stirred going in. Some corn coming off my drying bin floor late this summer tested over 15.5%. I have successfully kept corn into the summer at 17% I just started in with a "TopDry" bin system. We did a few batches, trying to get the thing set, thinking we had the corn about 14%, after a day or so of cooling. After filling it, and having aerated it for several days(rainy weather) we emptied it for the first time Thur. I constantly checked the moisture going into storage. I got a 10%, 11%, a couple 14%'s, and mostly 12-12.5%. That was an expensive 7000 plus bushels of corn! Many around here with continuous flow dryers over dry their corn to 13 or so, because they have had problems. All that to say- it depends on what your corn moisture REALLY is. And temp. And humidity. And will the corn be in contact with concrete? etc. etc. Hopefully with yours naturally dried you won't face these challenges.

Today's Featured Article - 12-Volt Conversions for 4-Cylinder Ford 2000 & 4000 Tractors - by Tommy Duvall. After two summers of having to park my old 1964 model 4000 gas 4 cyl. on a hill just in case the 6 volt system, for whatever reason, would not crank her, I decided to try the 12 volt conversion. After some research of convert or not, I decided to go ahead, the main reason being that this tractor was a working tractor, not a show tractor (yet). I did keep everything I replaced for the day I do want to restore her to showroom condition.
