I was the one that mentioned that number, and yes, it was a verified quote at the time (several years ago). At the time the dealer was the only place we could get injectors, I would imagine that has changed and brought the cost down, and labor rates are higher up here. Napa online shows reman injectors for an `05 at $668 a piece still, that is $5344 for eight, plus gaskets and labor at $110 an hour at our rate up here, yeah, I would say $6000 to $8000 is still a reasonable quote.
I do not have anything against the duramax engine, they have issues same as any other, and none of the newer light duty electronically injected diesels are cheap to get parts for.
