Has anyone noticed something in the off road dye attacking synthetic fuel system materials.
I first noticed this a couple of years ago with Behrens steel fuel pour cans. The cans are no longer soldered but now sealed with a clear sealer. Neither gasoline nor non dyed fuel affects the sealer but off road fuel does.
After a couple of exposures to dyed fuel the clear sealant turns pink and softens, eventually resulting in leaks. I returned 4 to the store for new ones before giving up and buying a plastic transfer can.
Now, my 2007 MF 533 (245 hours) is developing leaks at hose connections and fittings having pliable gaskets, e.g., drain plug, brass hose connections sealed withi flat neoprene (?) gaskets.
