I grew up in the middle of 5 farms in MD. Three had farmalls, one had farmalls and Massey's and the other had John deere and farmalls. One farmer down the road had Olivers. As a kid I would ride the Farmall M in one field and the Oliver Super 88 would be beside us in the other field. The M always went away from the Super 88 when we were plowing. It wasn't until I got into tractors and pulling that I relized the M had been to the dealer and the 88 hadn't. I don't know what he did to the M but it wasn't stock. The farm that had the Oliver switched to Deere's and said to him the deere's are better. His response was his barn burnt down and they were tight on money and Oliver wouldn't extend credit and John Deere did and that's why he went to deere and his comment was deere sucked but he couldn't get money to buy Olivers. I have IH, Oliver, Ac and One JD. I like the IH's and the Oliver the best Allis is ok and I just don't like the JDs. I never would have farmed with them back then if I was a farmer.
