The tube holds the air anyway. Make sure when using tire irons that the opposite side of the irons bead is in the lowest [usually center part] of the rim to give you the most slack.In other words the bead should be in the dropped center part of the rim. It ain't goin' in the Indy 500. If you wanted you could put some High Tack on that section but not needed.When you put them back on same thing.I can walk them on with sneakers a a Ken tools hammer ,no irons to pinch tube ,but without that slack from the right position: impossible. Seat this very carefully as someone else noted already.Lots of soap. Low and slow [ hey thats my pulled pork saying Low and Slow ]
