Back in the 1960's I lived there for two and a half years. There were very few wheeled tractors there at that time. There was one good sized dairy farm and they used the modern farmalls. The rest all used crawlers in the Pineapple and sugar cane fields. Dole (pineapple) and C&H (sugar cane) were the big companies.
There were a lot of cattle on the big Island, but the cattle were on pasture all year. I don't remember seeing any tractors there.
