Of all the military based movies I"ve seen in my life I really like Sgt. York and best of all.Full Metal Jacket ,In Harms Way,Patton,and any movie about Rommel,the Desert Fox,especially the one where James Mason portrays Rommel,I can"t remember the Movies name. Changing the era and scene some,Patriot with Mel Gibson and Heath Ledger is high on my list along with Last of the Mohicans.They have not made a good Civil War Movie yet in my opinion.There was nothing good about that war,except for the fact that my GGGrand Father survived it.10 of my relatives of that era fought thru the war,8 to save the Union in the 10th.Kentucky Mounted Calvary,2 for the confederatcy. I think they all were able to come home except for Ed Harmon, to much hostility towards the rebels.It continues to this day with hostility between families.Picture is of Ed Harmon who became an officer in the Army of Virginia.He was a cousin to my GGGrand Father.Sad.
