It may be mother natures way of reducing numbers. We occassionally have mysterious deer die offs of 50 or so, but nothing like what I am hearing from western, ND. Here in Pa guys are constantly fighting with the Game Commission about deer tag allocations. Deer just aren't where they used to be, but people can't get that through there heads. They change there habits based on hunting pressure. We hunt NE and that hunting is a lot different than here in Pa. We don't have the wide open spaces. Pa whitetail would have a heart attack crossing some of the fields I have seen whitetail run throuigh out there. Also the buck to doe ratio is much better in NE comapred to here. Here we have areas that have too many deer and other classical hunting areas that have only a few left. I prefer western hunting and I sure hate to hear about die offs anywhere.
