A few pages back there was an argument going on about Diesel oil not suitable in certain I.H. engines. Somebody did a valve job and smoked a valve a few minutes into some heavy PTO work. He was blaming the failure on the oil, citing that as soon as he switched to the "proper" oil, valve failures ceased. I'm not about to call anyone a liar, but could we have a mis-diagnosis here? The better oils I have seen were all SJ-CG or whatever the rating is up to now. I didn't know you could get one or the other. This is particularly curious to me because I have a C-282 on a 503 combine and have never had any valve trouble, and it gets no special oil. Thanks for your advice. Fritz
