Last year I was not, worked too many hours, too darned tired and sore to keep going, this year is a different story, been catching up on some long overdue chores, one was cleaning, organizing and getting rid of all sorts of things cluttering my yard and garage, it had the makings or foundation for hoarding. Note to self: do not bring home good used or salvage lumber, unless you plan to use it LOL ! Place was so cluttered up, with all that snow last year, no way this year.
Started with getting my old ford ranger running and moving, what a job....done.
I was able to get 2 cord cut and 1 loaded into the back of the garage/basement, 2 year old oak, bucked, drying near stove and I hand split before use, also have some small round real dry, black cherry and the rest, still need to buck more and get some sort of roof up, which I have and can attach to an existing unfinished pole barn, also have materials on hand for a 12x24 wood shed hope to get that done too.
Also figure on getting a 22 ton husky splitter from the new tsc across the road, so I can get this pile cut split and under cover, I have more darned wood in piles that need to get under a shed.
Tractor gets the counterweight on and lives in garage so it starts easily and I can break a path out the driveway.
Still have my upper garden to till, that gets done tomorrow.
It has been so warm, I have stopped hunting, already filled a doe and buck tag, butchered and froze each immediately, need one more, so I'm almost done. It's hard to believe these temperatures and how warm November has been here 2011, never recall it like this ever. Ticks are everywhere.
I've also got an old K10 chevy 4x4 with a plow, sitting for years, with all kinds of new parts in it, really need to get that into the garage and get that done, eliminates using the tractor and has a warm cab. Not road worthy, but great for the yard.
There's more but not so critical, as of tonight my yard is cleared out and I have room to deal with snow, not hemmed in. Still have 1 car to get rid of, 1 F150 to work on and get running, I'm getting there and can see the light at the end of the tunnel now at least. I think back how in heck did I let things go for the last 3 years, just takes being busy for several years.

Today's Featured Article - Listening to Your Tractor - by Curtis Von Fange. Years ago there was a TV show about a talking car. Unless you are from another planet, physically or otherwise, I don’t think our internal combustion buddies will talk and tell us their problems. But, on the other hand, there is a secret language that our mechanical companions readily do speak. It is an interesting form of communication that involves all the senses of the listener. In this series we are going to investigate and learn the basic rudimentary skills of understanding this lingo.
