In reference to the wound in the first pic, (you probably already know this) watch out for infection under the skin that is scraped down. There could be some hair or debris under the skin.
My vet would say lots of hydro treatment (flushing with water) then good cream anti-biotic to keep the wound soft.
As said in one of the other posts, you can use diapers or feminine hygiene products for bandages then wrap with vet wrap just tight enough to keep in place. Wrapping in a figure 8 helps prevent slipping. This would protect the wound and be flexible enough to allow the horse to eat.
I would be tempted to SSS if I caught the person(s) who did this. My horses are like kids to me, too.
Unfortunately, I see news stories about horrendous cruelty to animals in these times.
From working in the security industry, I know there is a harmless dye you can put on items that will permanently stain skin. It helps to identify thieves, etc. If you think they might come back, you might get some and put it on the waterers.
I also agree with posting a game cam. They might try something else and you don't want these low lifes around when your foals are born.

After some research of convert or not, I decided to go ahead, the main reason being that this tractor was a working tractor, not a show tractor (yet). I did keep everything I replaced for the day I do want to restore her to showroom condition.
