Buddy of mine had luck about that good a few years ago. Bought a litter spreader truck that was locked up for junk price. Found a rebuilt engine, took old one out for a core and when he took the starter off half the bendix was gone. It was wedged in the house'n again the fly wheel. Just to see he turned the engine and then just had to put it back in to see if it ran. He's run several hundred tons of litter through it with out another problem.
