It really makes no difference. If you're doing some lab experiments where milli-Vs and milli-As are part of the game then worry about it and adjust your cables to make all the IR drops balance. Otherwise, consider that you are making a ground buss and a battery buss and add as many six-cell batteries in parallel as you need to meet your load/hour requirement. I guess I never thought about this before but when the Phone Co. extended the battery by adding another string they did adjust the size of the buss bars. The main busses were connected to the end of the first string and never moved.
