Got woke up this morning to the sound of the dogs raising cane in the drive way. Looked out and I had four pickups parked in my barn yard. This is at 5:30 AM Sunday morning. All of them had out of county license plates. I hurried out as one fellow was pointing his gun at my dogs. I asked them what the heck they where doing. The same gun pointing fellow started to get mouthy about "going deer hunting Grand PA". They all thought that was a great joke. He is not one of my grand kids, just a smarta$$.
There where a total of thirteen of them there. I asked them why they thought that they could hunt here? They said they had permission from the owner. I asked to see a copy of that in writing. The one had a paper stating that he could hunt on So and So's property. It was not dated. I now own the property his note talked about. I have owned it for over five years. I asked him when he had gotten permission to hunt there. He told me that it was when he was in college in Dubuque, eight years ago.
He got all mad when I told him he had three problems. 1) He was not even at the right property. It is a mile down the road. 2) I now own the property and do not allow any hunting by non family members. 3) His permission slip/note was not for this hunting season.
They started to get a little loud until my sons rolled in all armed with shot guns. (wife had called them, we had an older guy beat up a few years ago by some hunters. I had my pistols under my coat) I told the hunters that they had better leave and not come back. I over heard one of them tell the others that they would go down the road and hunt there. I told them that this entire road was off limits. Between myself, my Dad, my sons, and my brother we own or control all of the ground on this road.
They left but I wonder where they went. I am willing to bet that they are going to hunt but don't give a rats butt about having permission.
Another nail in any hunters coffin around here. It just seems we keep getting all of the idiots around me. LOL An old friend says the reason old guys are grumpy is that our BS filter is plugged up by too many years of BS.
