We had to keep them to keep our goats healthy. Here in our part of New York, land snails are the host for several diseases that goats get. Guinea hens keep our place snail-free.
Biggest problem I've had is keeping them around. All ours have gotten "wander lust" after a year or two old and head for the woods and never return,
