We've been keeping a flock of 10 to 20 for the past few years. They really help keep the ticks at bay. They are good watchdogs, but they sure has heck don't scare away skunks or raccoons. I lose a lot of them to predators which is why I've never had extra birds to try eating them. Their eggs are small and very hard shelled and they usually won't lay them in next boxes, but they are the most delicious eggs I've ever eaten (probably because of all the insects in their diets).
