Shop asked over $400 to change both rear wheel bearings. Camry has only 155K on it but left rear bearing was shot and right one was just starting to grumble too.
Remove wheel, remove drum, 4 bolts hub assembly comes off with out removing brakes. Clean off base area, install new o ring. bolt on assembly. Drum, Wheel Done. Both sides took less then 1 hr.
Parts where $60 on amazon(yes China made) but being this particular Camry probably will only make another 100K I took the cheap route. Besides the last time I spent the extra $ for American Brand rotors all I got were reboxed China made rotors! Paid extra 10 bucks a piece for new better box. @#Q$%
The 4th generation Camry's 97-2001, 4 cylinder models are one of the easiest cars to fix I have ever had. Run good, smooth quiet and if you are lite on the pedal you can get 35mpg on the hwy at 65-70 mph.
