Sounds like the typical Ford dealer. I came home from the hospital in a Ford, drove Fords growing up and bought Fords for most of my adult life. Then I moved near Manhattan KS and the local Ford dealer made sure I never bought another new Ford again. I'll buy a used one, but I'll never buy one with a warranty that requires I go to the Ford dealer for repair.
We had issues with every Ford they serviced but the last one was the last chance. I bought a new 2006 Freestyle for my wife. Well over 30 trips to the dealer for minor repairs that should have been taken care of in two or three. The final came when I had the transmission oil changed at 60K just like it says in the manual. It is a constant variable speed transmission and no one but the dealer services it (Midas and others just said they don't touch them). Made my appointment a week in advance and dropped it off. Went to pick it up and they still had it on the lift - they didn't have the filter in stock. Got it back the next day after having to hitch a ride home and back to work. Two weeks later it was leaking out of both half shafts, one per the shop manual has to be removed to change the filter. Brought it back - "Naw we didn't remove the half shafts" and the bill is on you. It ran me about $850 to change the transmission oil. Traded it a week late for new Kia Sedona, its been in the shop once in 60K miles.
