Best 3/4 ton you could buy is a cummins 6 speed standard. Unlike a chevy it has a solid axle up front good for towing. Fully boxed frames. chevy doesnt. really easy motors to work on and really reliable drive trains.Buy like an 06 cummins or older they dont have the strict edmission standards like the newer ones either. Can pickup up 06 for 24,000 and older less and less $$. I been working on a new cummins motor (concept) acually for the past 4 years I built for my dodge truck that gets 30 to 35 mpg if you can keep your foot out of the pedal. 20 to 25mpg if your towing 12,000 lbs or less. What im building would make older cummins be able to do the same thinga and tow like no other.
