Buying parts these days gives me gas.. came back from the locl JD dealer. Had to order a ball joint for a 6400 with MFWD. One number came up, then sub number came up. Asked what the difference was in two pieces of steel about six inches long, one and a half iches thick and a piece of rubber. Old number was $109, and the new number was $170!
Last summer, went to New Holland deler for parts for a rake-tedder. Little paddle like bolt, about 6" long, like a bolt with a paddle welded on top cost me $7 when I got one a couple of years ago. They were now up to $64.
Who do these guys think they're selling to? The US Government?
Couldn't make the ball joint, but made my own paddle bolt for less than $1.50, including paint. But these manufacturers are going crazy on these parts prices---
