In theory. All it takes to defeat the firing pin imprint is a quick swipe across the tip of the firing pin with a piece of fine sandpaper and you have an entirely different imprint.
Most after market replacement barrels are less than $100. So regardless of all the smoke politicians blow about tracking firearms, for less than $100, most any firearm can be rendered untraceable.
