Mr. Railsback, I wasn't disputing what YOU said; I was providing evidence that the person who posted PRIOR to your post has no idea what he's talking about, when he flatly states that people who collect disability aren't required to have paid into the system. I was there for my wife's claims, and I know better. I may not be the "expert" that he is, but I know the facts of my wife's situation...and she was required to have worked and contributed enough "quarters" of earnings to qualify.
BTW...my wife didn't collect after winning the THIRD round; SS had 60 days to appeal, and they filed the appeal on the 59th day. It took the 2nd trip before an administrative law judge to actually collect on her case...and, as I said, she lived to collect less than 3 years.
