Hey Dave, you did the same thing I would have done. Granted there's no reason to be an "a$$hole right off the bat, and you can usually catch more flies with honey than with $hit but........ At the same time there's no reason not to be the biggest a$$hole in the room when the ones that THINK they are eat all of the honey and then come back just begging for more. When the honey runs out $hit is all that's left so no reason not to pile it deep and let them see how it feels for a change........ Most don't know how to respond when someone does this because way too many people in this world have been either taught, or maybe I should call it conditioned, to be so worried about being PC and/or non-confrontational that they don't know how to stand up for themselves. They'd rather let others walk all over them than to do anything that might upset the a$$hole causing the problem.
Wife tells me all the time that I'm an insensitive a$$hole, and I freely admit to it too. 99.999999999% of the time I'm the nicest guy you'd ever want to meet, but when the need arises I can go from nice to a$$hole in about .2 seconds, especially when my families health, well being, etc, etc are concerned. Got put in that situation several years ago and wound up getting out of the car in traffic to teach a young punk that he wasn't as great as the thought he was. After bumping me with his car twice, and me still not moving, he started mouthing off at me. Thankfully security finally showed up to do their job, before he either bumped me again, or said anything else. As it was he was about .2 seconds from Mr nice guy going away and him being drug out of his car and put on the ground, and embarrassed in front of his girlfriend by this 'old man'.
So, congradulations for doing what too many wouldn't even think to do and teaching the guy a lesson. maybe he learned something, maybe not, but I guarantee you the next time someone says something to him, wether he does anything about it or not, he'll at least think about what you did do.

Today's Featured Article - Restoration Story: Fordson Major - by Anthony West. George bought his Fordson Major from a an implement sale about 18 years ago for £200.00 (UK). There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
