Well lets start from the beginning here on the sander as i will not get into the hassle over the 12 volt drill from several years back. This is sander #4 that has throwen the sanding head off and the second one that has hit me in the NUTS putting me on the floor . I have been busten my donkey tryen to get these book cases down BEFORE Christmas , as you can see i did not make it . Anyway when i was able o get off the floor i Cleaned it off from the dust and put it back in it's case and get in my truck and drive to Home Depot (not that far for me like 2.5 miles ) walk into store and go up to the service desk and the manager of the store is standing there and she said not again , yep sure did . She calls the guy in tools and tells him to come to the service desk. He come up and Lorie tells him to get me a new one , OK this will work. HE come back with a 6 inch round one , mine is a 1/4 sheet square i have reams of sheets of all grades of sand paper and no disc. Ah no i prefer the 1/4 sheet ones , he tells me that they do not make that one nomore . BUT they will send it in and get it fixed . Today the warranty center calls and says i must call Ridgid and get them the warranty # and call them back so they can fix it . OK so i call sat on the phone for 55 min waiting , yea i am stubborn all the while slowly simmering . Guy come on and i give him what he asked for and he tells me that i never sent in the warranty card on it . Oh yes i did along with the 12 volt cordless drill and the band saw the roto rooter and a couple other tools that i have bought in the last eight years from Home depot , nope don't have a thing on you so you are SOL good bye and hangs up. Oh and he told me that if they had received the warranty card i would have been give a # to keep with each tool . Never got a thing from them ever. So i called back to the service center and tell them just to sent it back to the store and i asked to see how much it would cost to fix , they told me that it would cost 86 bucks to fix a 49.96 dollar sander . SO as far as i am concerned there warranty is not worth anything and the card you get with the tool should be a gift certificate for a roll of toilet paper and a tube of K Y jelly. Yep you guessed it i had a big mouth and believe me when i tell you this i will put down RIDGID each and every time someone asks me about it . And if my big mouth causes them go go under i could care as much as they do about there customers.

Today's Featured Article - Grain Threshing in the Early 40's - by Jerry D. Coleman. How many of you can sit there and say that you have plowed with a mule? Well I would say not many, but maybe a few. This story is about the day my Grandfather Brown (true name) decided along with my parents to purchase a new Ford tractor. It wasn't really new except to us. The year was about 1967 and my father found a good used Ford 601 tractor to use on the farm instead of "Bob", our old mule. Now my grandfather had had this mule since the mid 40's and he was getting some age on him. S
