Usually the Rick Mercer report is moderately entertaining and somewhat educational of obscure topics. He's been around here twice in the past year. Once with the Kincardine snowmobile races. And recently stringing lines on the new 500KV Bruce to Milton transmission line. b.t.w Rick Mercer likes boys, not girls. As for the political organization the Ministry Of Natural Resources has become........ The MNR has been infiltrated with animal rights activists, gun haters and downtown Toronto condo dwelling environmentalists. Most hunting and any new/young hunter info has been removed from MNR publications and de-linked from the web site. Young folk and parents have to obtain info from the privately funded hunting organizations such as the Ontario Federation of Hunters and Anglers. The NMR has banned the spring bear hunt. Along with the previous Federal governments have made criminals and near criminals out of firearm owners with anti-firearm laws. Tourist American hunters that used to help thin out the bear population have stayed home.Resident hunters being mostly middle aged and seniors have sold or given away their guns. Young hunters are rare as the legal steps, expense, time and training courses of obtain permission to own a fire arm are immense. Plus given the very high % of the population that are urban, town and city dwellers. That have no farm pest experience.Very limited % of the population have any military experience either. And boys raised by politically correct man and gun hating single Mothers. Their only firearm experience are BS movies and evil immoral video games. Black bear population has sky rockected. Moose population is down due to predication of calves during birthing. Problem bears are attacking campers cottagers and rural-semi rural residents. NMR responds with public education programs of how to "Live with bears". Two years ago a rouge black bear was wandering through London near a school. The media and the bunny huggers made life h*ll for the poor cops that shot the bear. You don't want to know how coyotes have more rights that straight white protestant meat eating conservative males that hunt.
