Forget the Onan, replacement 17 hp Kohlers are available with full pressure lubrication to the rod bearings.
It is what Kohler calls "Series II." Northern Hydraulics has new Kohlers spec'ed to drop right in. Cost is
around $1,400. Go to www.atis.net and scan the archives for postings with a subject including "John Deere
317 update."
